Logon issues

Review the most common reasons users cannot log in to DutySheet, especially after resetting a password.

Written by Cristiana Ghinea

When a user is unable to log in to DutySheet, particularly following a password reset, there are several common causes to check:

  • Incorrect username or password: Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive. Ensure the credentials are being entered exactly as provided.

  • Spaces when copying and pasting: If the password has been copied from an email, check that no additional spaces have been included.

  • Out-of-date password manager: If the user has a password manager configured, ensure it has been updated with the new password.

  • Incorrect DutySheet system: Users may be directed to the wrong system if they search for “DutySheet” online. Ensure they are accessing the correct system:

    • Specials: https://secure.dutysheet.com

    • PSV: https://psv.dutysheet.com

    • Cadets: https://cadets.dutysheet.com

  • Suspended or resigned account: An account marked as Suspended or Resigned will not be permitted to log in to DutySheet.

Account locked message

If the user receives the message:

Too many attempts. Your account has been locked and access to DutySheet from this computer address has been banned for a period of time.

Ask them to close all browser windows and try again. If the issue persists, restarting the device may also resolve the temporary restriction.

⚠️ Important: Login issues are generally not caused by an individual account being corrupted.

If DutySheet is accessible to other users, the issue is more likely to be related to the individual user's credentials, account status, device, or the system they are attempting to access.
