CDSV onboarding steps for cyber volunteers
You can onboard cyber volunteers through the CDSV integration with Assemble and DutySheet. This process requires administrator access to both systems.
Prepare your CDSV instance and force settings
Log in to the CDSV Assemble instance.
Check that your Team with the force name has the following fields completed:
PNCID in External Reference.
Default RoleID and Default ManagerID have values.
Log in to the force and open the settings.
Make sure both the Cyber Volunteering and CDSV Assemble Integration settings are enabled.
If they are not, enable them, then log out of DutySheet and log back in.
Set up users as cyber volunteers
Go to the users you wish to enable as cyber volunteers.
Make sure each user has at least one email address.
Select the Cyber Volunteer checkbox for each eligible user.
š Note: You can only select the Cyber Volunteer option if the user has at least one email address.
Process and confirm onboarding
When you select the Cyber Volunteer option, the userās details are automatically queued and transferred to Assemble. This usually happens within a few seconds.
The user receives an automatic welcome email from Assemble.
Avoid toggling the Cyber Volunteer option on and off repeatedly, as this triggers unnecessary transfers.
If a user is resigned or the Cyber Volunteer option is cleared in DutySheet, they are automatically marked as a leaver in Assemble.
General rules for CDSV onboarding
You cannot add users directly into DutySheet for onboarding. Users must already exist in DutySheet before enabling Cyber Volunteer status.
Every user must have at least one email address.
You cannot add users directly onto Assemble. Only the CDSV process or an Assemble administrator (such as Jess) can do this.
Always ensure the relevant Team is set up in Assemble before onboarding.
When you transfer a user to DutySheet, open Assembleās My Team in a different browser window to confirm that the user has been added.
