This article offers step-by-step guidance on adding and editing a duty type.

Written by Cristiana Ghinea

You can add or edit a duty type using the Duty Types Management link in the supervisors menu.

Edit duty types

To edit a duty type:

  1. Click Supervisors in the top menu.

  2. Click Duty Types Management in the Administrators section.

  3. A list of all of your organisation's current duty types appears.

  4. To edit a duty, click the cog icon next to the relevant duty.

  5. Edit the duty type by changing the Duty Type field.

  6. To hide or un-hide the duty type, select or deselect the Hidden? checkbox.

📌 Note: Hiding a duty type doesn't remove it from historical reports.

  7. Click Save Duty Type.

⚠️ Warning: Don't use this functionality to completely rename a duty type, unless you've just added it and need to make a correction, as renaming a duty type will also rename the duties in historical reports.

Add a new duty type

To add a new duty type:

  2. Click Duty Types Management in the Administrators section.

  3. A list of all of your organisation's current duty types appears.

  4. Use the form field at the top of the page to add a new duty type.

  5. Fill in the Duty Type field.

  6. To hide or un-hide the duty type, select or deselect the Hidden? checkbox.

  7. Click Submit.

Cyber volunteers

If your organisation uses the cyber volunteering module, you'll also see a duty type named Cyber Volunteering.

Although you're able to edit that duty type, you won't be able to hide it.

Only the users who have the right permissions will see the Cyber Volunteering duty type.
